Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan met Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy and Mines Resources Sauat Mynbayev Thursday, and they see eye to eye on advancing bilateral cooperation.

Wang said the two governments should deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy, resources and finance, and work together to cope with the global financial crisis.

He also called for the governments of both countries to expand the role of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee.

The vice-ministerial committee, which was founded in Beijing in May 2004 during Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to China, covers all fields of cooperation between the two countries.

The strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan had maintained rapid growth in recent years, Wang said. The two countries enjoyed frequent high-level contacts, political mutual trust and expansion of practical cooperation.

Mynbayev, who is visiting China at the invitation of the National Energy Administration, said Kazakhstan was ready to strengthen the partnership, and promote trade, energy, and resources cooperation with China to realize mutual benefit.

China and Kazakhstan established their strategic partnership in 2005.
