Slovak First Deputy PM meets Chinese DM

Slovak First Deputy Prime Minister Dusan Caplovic met with visiting Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister General Liang Guanglie in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia on Thursday noon.

Caplovic welcomed General Liang and his entourage, and expressed warm congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Calplovic said that the Slovak government values relations with China, adheres to the one-China policy and appreciates China's position of peaceful settlement of international disputes, and hopes to exchange and cooperate with China in political, economical, military, cultural, educational, scientific and technological fields.

Liang thanked Slovakia's support on the issues concerning China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted that with efforts from leaders of both countries, the relations between China and Slovakia, including military relations, are going smoothly, and pragmatic cooperation in various fields has yielded remarkable results.

Liang said China values the relations between the two countries and the two armies, and is willing to make joint efforts to bring the bilateral relations to a new level.

On the same day, Liang also met with President of Slovak Parliament's Defense and Security Commission Pucik Rudolf and Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, exchanging views on topics of common interest.

Chinese ambassador to Slovakia Chen Jian fu, and Liang's major entourage took part in the meeting.
