Indonesian navy plane crashes with 9 crews onboard

An Indonesian navy's maritime plane NOMAD crashed on Monday during its routine patrol flight from Lang Bawang to Tarakan in East Kalimantan province, Indonesian TV station Metro TV reported.

The report said that the plane with 9 crews on board lost its contact since 13:00 p.m. local time (0500 GMT). All nine crews were feared dead, said the TV station.

During the interview with the TV station, Indonesian Navy Spokesperson Iskandar Sitompul said that the plane likely crashed in the forest area in Lang Bawang.
