Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met Thursday with Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Zimbabwean Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara on the sidelines of the the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2009, also known as the Summer Davos.

The three-day forum, which opened in northwestern China's port city Dalian Thursday afternoon, has attracted some 1,400 participants from 86 countries and regions to discuss topics about the theme of "Relaunching Growth" amid global economic downturn.

While meeting with Hoang Trung Hai, Premier Wen said the cooperation between China and Vietnam under current complex international situation complies with the interests of both countries.

The two countries should take the opportunity to boost bilateral ties as the Year of Friendship will come next year, said Wen.

Hoang Trung Hai said that Vietnam will further carry out high-level exchanges, expand mutually-beneficial cooperation and step up contacts with China on international affairs.

While meeting with Mutambara, Wen said peace and stability in Zimbabwe not only benefit the Zimbabwean people, but are conducive to China-Zimbabwe relations.

China supports Zimbabwe's efforts to revitalize and develop its economy and will enhance cooperation with the African countries to tackle difficulties, said Wen.

Zimbabwe is grateful for China's support and help, said Mutambara, hoping the two countries enhance cooperation in areas like trade, investment, agriculture and infrastructure.
