China's seventh peacekeeping squad, an 17-strong team, left Beijing Thursday to take part in the United Nations mission in Haiti.

The team has been selected from police forces in eight provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Beijing, Tianjin, Gansu and Guangxi, the Ministry of Public Security said Friday.
