Adjust font size:

Senior advisor Zhang Meiying met with a women delegation from the Uri Party of South Korea Thursday, and both sides agreed to enhance exchanges between their stateswomen in a bid to promote the development of women's cause.

Thursday marks the International Women's Day. Zhang Meiying, vice chairwoman of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, told Uri Party's assemblywoman Kim Myung Ja, head of the delegation, that stateswomen of the two countries should enhance exchanges, expand cooperation and promote the development of women's cause.

This year is the 15th anniversary of China-South Korea ties as well as the Year of China-South Korea Exchanges. Zhang praised the achievements the two countries made in advancing bilateral ties, adding dynamic party exchanges also contributed to country-to-country relations.

"We are ready to join hands with the South Korean side to further increase understanding and friendship between the people, and push forward bilateral all-round cooperative ties," she said.

The two sides also briefed each other on the situation of women's participation in politics and women's status in society in their countries.
