Ambassador: China not to impose its culture

China's expanded presence in Africa includes the country's culture impact on the continent, but Chinese ambassador to South Africa, Zhong Jianhua has cautioned complacency regarding a sense of superiority in Chinese culture.

Over recent years, China has set up a handful of Confucius institutes in universities across Africa with the hope of promoting Chinese language and culture on the continent which sees growing investments from China.

The institutes have played important roles in bridging China and Africa in terms of culture. They have opened a channel to African people wishing to receive some formal education on Chinese language and culture.
