Musharraf recommends general elections to be held on Jan. 8

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said late Sunday he was recommending to the election commission that general elections be held on Jan. 8, the official APP news agency reported.

 

Musharraf said his wish was that "the general elections in the country would be held on January 8," the Associated Press of Pakistan reported, saying that the president made the remarks at a dinner in Karachi.
