A man claiming responsibility for last Tuesday's letter bomb in south England was arrested on Friday, police said.

 

The man was detained under the Mental Health Act after he called a radio station to claim responsibility for a letter bomb in Wokingham, southern England on Tuesday, police said.

 

In Tuesday's letter bombs, two men suffered blast wounds to their hands and upper bodies at the offices of an accountancy firm linked to Speed Check Services in Wokingham.

 

Police were investigating whether the man was responsible for the attacks.

 

During the last three weeks, seven letter bombs have been received across the country and nine people have suffered minor injuries in the attacks.

 

The attacks appeared to confirm fears that an enraged motorist is mounting a daily parcel bomb campaign.
