Studying at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing

The Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing (CAFA), founded in April, 1950, is the only national art educational institution in China directly under the Ministry of Education. There are five faculties including Chinese Painting, Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, and Liberal Arts. The university also offers courses leading to Masters and PHD degrees to foreign students.

At present the university has a total of about 4000 full time students including 200 international students from 40 different countries,.

Chinese Painting--Four courses comprising Chinese Landscape Mountain Water Painting, Chinese Figure Painting, Chinese flower-and-bird painting, and Calligraphy.

Fine Arts--Four courses comprising Oil painting, Printmaking, Sculpture and Fresco.

Art history--Five courses comprising art history & theory, art criticism, art management, art relic reservation and restoration, and art archaeology.

Design--Seven courses comprising visual communication, digital media, product design, photography, fashion design, jewelry design, and graphic design.

Architecture--Three courses comprising Architecture, interior design, and landscape design.

A) CAFA application form for International Students

B) Six copies of candidate's works (1 thesis for art history applicants)

C) One copy of applicant's passport

D) Degree certificate and transcript (Undergraduate applicants need senior high school certification and postgraduate applicants need Bachelor certification)

E) One copy of HSK (the Chinese proficiency test) certification

F) 800 RMB application fee
