Shanghai World Financial Center, the world's third-tallest skyscraper due to open on Saturday, will have the world's fastest elevators, said its builder.

Elevators will travel at 10 meters per second in the 492-meter landmark tower at Lujiazui, said Shanghai Construction Group. Visitors will be lifted to the tower's observatory on the 94th floor in several minutes.

Three observatory levels will be open, from the 94th floor at 423 meters above the ground to the 97th and 100th floors.

The highest observatory, named Sky Pavilion, is 472 meters above sea level and provides a bird's-eye view of the city's complete skyline.

On the 85th floor will be the world's highest swimming pool, part of the hotel that will occupy floors 78 to 93.

And the world's highest Chinese restaurant will open on the 93rd story of the building.
