China Unicom to provide tailor-made mobile phone services for Olympics

China Unicom Ltd. said it planned to offer tailor-made mobile phone services for the upcoming Olympic Games.

"Our company plans to add foreign language services and an international business center ahead of the Beijing Olympics," said Li Gang, Unicom vice president, on Wednesday.

He said the company would provide English, Korean and Japanese hotline services around the clock for foreign subscribers during the August Games and would extend the work hours of its outlets around the Olympic venues.

The company will also provide 24 hour mobile phone credit charge services at important hotels around Olympic venues.

China Unicom boasted more than 160 million subscribers in 2007.
