The Shenzhen Daily is offering its expat readers the chance to claim 30 free concert tickets for a concert scheduled to be held Saturday.

The tickets are for the concert, “Melodies of the World,” which will be staged at the Shenzhen Grand Theater at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The concert will feature four accomplished Polish vocalists Iwona Tober, Anna Cymmerman, Tadeusz Szlenkier and Leszek Swidzinski, along with famed conductor Krzysztof Urbanski and pianist Eugeniusz Majchrzak.

The repertoire will feature unique and upbeat arrangements of both classical and pop music from many countries, including Poland, Italy, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Britain and Russia.

The concert was previously held in the United States last April, in Sweden last August, and in Ukraine last November.

Led by Andrzej Matusiak, general manager of the Warsaw-based Stoleczna Estrada, a nine-member delegation from Poland will visit Shenzhen from Wednesday (March 26) through Tuesday (April 1) as part of a cultural exchange program between Shenzhen and Warsaw.

During the Shenzhen Cultural Week held in Poland in February, a piano concert by young pianists from Shenzhen Arts School and an exhibition of paintings depicting Shenzhen were successfully staged in Warsaw.

Expats who want to attend the concert can call the Shenzhen Daily office at 8351-9911 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day from Tuesday to Thursday to book their free tickets. Children below 1.2 meters are not allowed into the concert venue.
