Mobile network to be accessible in Beijing subway lines
Adjust font size:

People who take Beijing subway lines 1 and 2 will soon be able to use their mobile phones on the train. Starting late June, both the lines will have access to cell phone networks, China News Service reports.

The civilian communication reconstruction project for subway line 1 and line 2 started on August 31, 2007. Now, engineers and technicians are debugging all the equipment to ensure the project is completed on time.

Construction of the Beijing subway started in 1965. Now, the city has five subway lines. Passengers using the newest line 5, which started operations late last year, have always been able to use their mobile phones on the train.
