Adjust font size:

China's most populous city opened its first library for foreign residents on Saturday, offering publications in foreign languages and information on living in Shanghai.

The international library, called "China Window," is in a library compound in Changning District, home to more than 30,000 expatriates and 21 consulates.

The library also has staff who speak foreign languages to help expat readers. Besides foreign publications, the library offers specialized information on the Shanghai Expo 2010, tourism, Chinese culture, medical services and local transportation.
