In the final match of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Badminton Invitational Tournament Sunday evening, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng emerged the men's doubles winners after beating fellow countrymen Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo 14-21, 21-15, 21-18. Guo Zhendong and Xie Zhongbo took the silver medal, followed by Xu Chen and Sun Junjie.

In the first game of their final showdown against world No. 1 pair Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng, 36th-seeded Guo Zhendong and Xie Zhongbo led 9-5 and soon took the game with 21-14.

But in the second game, Cai Yun and Fu adjusted their tactics and launched a fierce attack to lead 11-4. Guo and Xie counterattacked in vain and conceded the game 21-15.

In the third game, both sides resorted to rapid switching between attack and defense, with Guo and Xie leading 4-1 and then 9-3. Cai and Fu fought back to tie the score at 14. In the end Cai and Fu clinched the game 21-18 and the title for the event.

After the match, Dr. Kang Young Joong, President of the Badminton World Federation, and Fan Boyuan, President of the BJUT and the event organizing committee, presented medals to the top three pairs.
