Jiangsu beat Beijing PLA 28-25 in the men's group during the first day of the "Good Luck Beijing" Handball Tournament. The Beijing PLA team held onto a continuous lead for most of the match, but patient Jiangsu moved forward in the second half.

During the 7-day tournament, teams Beijing, Beijing PLA, Jiangsu and Guangdong will be vying for the men's gold. After two men's group matches on Saturday afternoon, Jiangsu was ranked first with one win, Beijing and Guangdong shared the second place with one draw representatively and Beijing PLA lagged behind with one defeat.
