Zambia's top shuttler gets Olympic berth
Adjust font size:

Zambia's top badminton player Eli Mambwe has won the right to compete at Beijing Olympics, raising the number of Zambian athletes going to China to seven, according to Times of Zambia.

National Olympics Committee (NOC) secretary general Hezel Kennedy said Wednesday that Mambwe had been accepted under the newly introduced tripartite commission.

Kennedy said that Mambwe had worked so hard and deserved a place at the Olympics because he had improved greatly and would prove to be an able athlete at the games.
