Kenyan boxer likely to miss Beijing Olympics
Adjust font size:

Kenya's welterweight boxer Nick Abaka might be dropped from the Olympic squad following a jaw injury he sustained at a regional armed forces competition.

Team Manager Charles Gituma said doctors were taking care of the boxer and they were waiting for a final report from the doctor.

"Chances of him making the trip are slim, but we are waiting for the final report from the doctors before we can inform the other authorities," he said.

Abaka was injured last month in Kampala during the regional military games in a fight against a Tanzanian opponent.
