Hungarian men's epee team aims at Olympic gold medal
Adjust font size:

The goal for the Hungarian men's epee team at the Beijing Olympics is a gold meal, team member Ivan Kovacs said on Monday.

"We won the second place in Athens Olympics and we were the second place in the 2008 European Championships in Ukraine. Our goal this time is a gold medal," Kovacs told Xinhua.

He said the Chinese team is a strong rival. "The Chinese epeeists are good, I remember Wang Lei won men's epee silver medal in Athens," he said.

Fencers of Hungary, Spain, Belarus, Ukraine and South Korea held training sessions Monday in Beijing's Fencing Hall, five days before the start of the Olympic fencing event.
