Angola pins hope on men's basketball team at Beijing Olympics

Angola's well-known basketball player Miguel Lutonda said Friday that Angolan is optimist about a positive performance of the Angolan men's basketball team at the 29th Olympic Games.

Miguel Lutonda told reporters that after the team's successful training sessions in Stankovic Cup and the participation in Diamond trophy. "Now the Angolan basketball team will show its strength at the Olympics."

He said he believes that only by implementing the guidelines provided by Angolan Coach Alberto de Carvalhoc, can the Angolan team move far at the Olympics.

"We can make a history," he said, adding that the national team is in the position to beat any opponents "as long as there is a greater engagement of all players."

Angola has been drawn into Group B along with the United States, Spain, Greece, Germany and host China. Angola will meet Germany on Sunday afternoon.
