Samoan boxer sent to hospital
Adjust font size:

Samoa's 81kg boxer Farani Tavui was sent to Chaoyang Hospital in eastern Beijing late Saturday after he suffered a heavy punch to the head during an Olympic preliminary match against Croatia's Marijo Sivolija-Jelica.

Dr. Charles Butler, chairman of the AIBA Medical Commission, told Xinhua that he did't think the 23-year-old was bleeding in the brain, but sent him to the hospital for the sake of safety.
