A special cheerleader showed up at the 2008 Beijing Olympic beach volleyball venue on Saturday Morning much to the surprise of American beach volleyball players.

US President George W. Bush visited the Beach Volleyball court at Beijing's Chaoyang Park to offer support to the American beach volleyball team, China News Service reports.

The temporary cheerleader-in-chief watched the US men's and women's teams practice. He finally went down onto the sand after some persuasion.

The president's performance was adequate, China News Service quoted foreign reports as saying.

On the same day, his wife Laura and daughter Barbara visited the Forbidden City.
