P. Jaroenrattanatarakoon of Thailand won the women's 53kg weightlifting gold medal at the Beijing Olympic Games on Sunday.

The Thai strongwoman lifted 95kgs in snatch and 126 kgs in clean and jerk for a winning total of 221 kgs.

South Korean Yoon Jinhee beat Belarus Nastassia Novikava on body difference for the silver medal as both made the two-lift total of 213 kgs.
