Bao won the match against the world's No. 13 opponent at 21-11, 19-21, 21-13.

Bao made a few unforced mistakes in the second game and Wacha seized the opportunities. However, Bao recollected himself and won the decisive third game.

"Wacha played well and was energetic on the court. I sped up in the third game and changed the strategy to win the third game," said Bao.

Wacha, on his part, said he was glad to win one game in the match, as he used to loss 0-2 to Bao in previous competitions. However, he was sad for defeat at the Olympic Games.

"Anyway, Bao is one of the best badminton player in the world," he said.

Wacha, 27, said he planned to participate in the Olympic Games four years later in London.
