Adjust font size:

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh won easily in a women's quarter final in the beach volleyball tournament on Sunday to advance.

The American defending champions edged out Ana Paula Connelly and Larissa Franca of Brazil in straight sets 21-18, 21-15.

The defending champions remained unbeaten at the Beijing Olympics. They have been continuing their winning streak in world-class tournaments in the past years.

The Brazilian team was newly-formed. Ana, 36, replaced Juliana Felisberta for the Beijing Games as Juliana is suffering from sharp pains on her right knee and decided days before the Olympics opened not to play.
