In the post-match press conference, Nigeria expressed confidence about their chances of winning gold.

"I don't have too much to say. It was a great game. My players were excellent. Everyone made a contribution to the team," Nigeria's Head Coach Samson Siasia commented on the match.

Siasia also talked about the weather in Shanghai at the press conference, "Shanghai is a great city; people here are friendly and helpful. The only thing that has concerned us is the muggy weather."

"We have made it to the final. It's unbelievable. We don't care which team we'll face in the final. We firmly believe we can win the gold medal," said Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi, who scored two goals in the match.

"The gold medal means a lot to our team and to the whole country. Nigeria hasn't won a single medal in the Beijing Olympics so far. Now we have secured at least silver, but gold will be better," Siasia finished.

In the final Nigeria will face reigning champion Argentina, who beat Brazil 3:0 in the other semifinal.
