US drops baton in both relay heats

The U.S. sprinters experienced the most gloomy evening on Thursday at the Beijing Olympic Games as both the men's and women's relay teams dropped baton in the first round of the competitions.

Roughly 20 minutes after the men's team, anchored by world champion Tyson Gay, the women's team also dropped the baton but continued running and finished the last in the heat.
