August 6: The Olympic flame arrives in Beijing.
   
17:00-21:30 of August 6:
The first match, the women football match is to be held at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.   
   
17:00-21:30 of August 7: China's Olympic Football Team makes its first appearance at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games at the Shanghai Stadium.
  
At 20: 00 of August 8: The Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is to be held at the National Stadium or the "Bird's Nest".
    
The opening ceremony lasts for about three and a half hours. Zhang Yimou, the general director of the opening ceremony, revealed that the performance would demonstrate to the world China's splendid culture of 5000 years, China's modern spirit, the Olympic spirit as well as Chinese broad mindedness.
   
August 9: The first gold medal comes from the shooting event or women's weightlifting.

19:00-22:40 of August 16: Men's 100 meter match is to be held inside the "Bird's Nest".

August 17: Today is to produce 34 gold medals. Table tennis is to produce its first gold medal. 
       
9:00-11:58 AM of August 18: Men's 100 meter Hurdles is to be held at the "Bird's Nest".  
   
19:00-22:18 of August 21: Men's 100 meter Hurdles finals is to be held at the "Bird's Nest".
 
20:00-22:10 of August 23:
Women's volleyball finals is to be held at the Capital Gymnasium. 
  
13:30-18:20 and 13:00-17:20 of August 24:
The last gold medal arises from the men's handball, the men's marathon or the men's water-polo.

20:00-23:00 of August 24: The Closing Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is to be held at the National Stadium or the "Bird's Nest".
