The capital city of Liaoning Province, Shenyang is the economic, cultural, financial and commercial centre of northeast China, with a population of 6.93 million. It features a typical northern temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 8.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature is -28.5 degrees Celsius and the highest temperature is 36.1 degrees Celsius.

 

Shenyang will hold the football matches for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.
