In a meeting with over 50 foreign journalists accredited to China on November 20, Zhao Dongming, director of BOCOG Cultural Activities Department talked about the preparatory work for the Beijing Olympics and related cultural activities.

The press mostly focused on what kind of cultural activities BOCOG will hold, how to select the hosts and hostesses of the awarding ceremonies, what kind of Chinese elements will be integrated into the 2008 Olympic Games and how the Olympic Youth Camp will go on. Zhao gave useful information on the topics.

To provide efficient services to foreign press covering the Beijing Olympics and their preparatory work, BOCOG (Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad) set every Tuesday as the day to meet the press.

Today's function attracted reporters from AP, Reuters, AFP and the Japanese press. An Asahi reporter said with the approach of 2008, the Beijing Olympics are increasingly becoming a hot topic for Japanese audiences.
