Even greater efforts urged to prepare for Beijing Olympics

A senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday urged local administrators to make even greater efforts for the upcoming Beijing Summer Olympics and Paralympics.

 

Xi Jinping, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee's Political Bureau, made the remark during a visit to the National Stadium and National Aquatics Center.

 

Xi said he was impressed by the spectacular and magnificent nestlike National Stadium and the liquid cube center, praising designers and builders for their wisdom and hard work.

 

He urged construction administrators for the Olympic facilities to make more detailed preparations and go all out for the Games opening which is only 175 days ahead.

 

Xi said that construction projects for the Beijing Olympics will create and train many designers, managers, organizers as well as 50,000 migrant workers.

 

Xi also visited the National Indoor Stadium and the Digital Beijing Mansion, which will provide a communications service during the Olympics and Paralympics and will be the information center for the capital after the Games.
