A total of 428 people have been selected as the cheerleaders for this summer's Olympic Games, the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) said on Thursday.

Cheerleading performances will be organized at 10 competition venues in Beijing, involving 17 sports, BOCOG said on its website.

These cheerleaders will have to go through specific training courses before the Aug. 8-24 Games.
