Adjust font size:

Singapore on Thursday confirmed the attendance by President S. R. Nathan and Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew at the Beijing Olympic Games in August this year.

The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Minister Mentor Lee will represent Singapore at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games on August 8 this year, and President Nathan will attend the Beijing Olympic Games from August 12 to 16 this year in support of the city state's national team.

As a nation to host the inaugural International Youth Olympic Games in 2010, Singapore has voiced its firm opposition against the idea to boycott the Beijing Olympics.
