Brazil to send biggest ever Olympic delegation

Brazil will send its biggest Olympic delegation to Beijing, the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) announced on Monday.

According to COB, 251 Brazilian have qualified for 31 events in the Beijing Olympics after the women's basketball team earned an Olympic ticket by beating Cuba 72-67 in Madrid on Monday.

Besides the women's basketball, Brazil has assured Olympic tickets in handball (women's and men's), boxing, road cycling, mountain biking, fencing, soccer (women's and men's), gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, equestrian, modern pentathlon (women's), taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon, sailing, volleyball (men's and women's) and beach volleyball (men's and women's).
