The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) said that 20 of its personnel have qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games, reported the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday.

Ade Abolurin, the Commandant-General, disclosed this in Abuja while addressing the athletes.

He was confident that the athletes would make Nigeria proud at the Olympics scheduled to begin in August.

Abolurin appealed to all Nigerians to give moral and financial support to Team Nigeria at the Olympics.

He also urged them to remember the athletes in their prayers, to enable them to achieve success and bring International recognition to the country.

The athletes will take part in boxing, weightlifting, javelin, shotput and indoor games, including Olusoji Fasuba, the African fastest man and world 60-meter champion.
