Samoa to send six athletes to Beijing Olympics

The South Pacific tiny island nation of Samoa will send six athletes to compete in the Olympic Games in Beijing next month.

The team includes: archer Joseph Walter, Pacific Games middle distance track champion Aunese Curreen, Serafina Aleki and Farani Tavui in boxing, the Pacnews reported on Thursday.

Samoa also has the first Pacific Islander to compete in kayak at the Olympic level, Rudolf Williams, and one of Oceania's great medal hopes, weightlifter Ele Opeloge.
