Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan expects the upcoming Beijing Olympics to be a success, thanks to good organization, fantastic facilities and the enthusiastic Chinese people, official Jordanian news agency Petra reported Thursday.

Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan attends the Olympic torch relay in Beijing on August 7, 2008.

When asked by CNN on the Beijing Olympic Games, the princess, who is a member of the International Olympic Committee, said this year's event will be successful by all standards.

The impact of sports is far greater than politics or rhetoric, she said, while calling upon the world to consider the message conveyed by the Olympics, which is one of world peace, and understanding among peoples around the globe.

Princess Haya is the daughter of the late Jordanian King Hussein Bin Talal and Queen Alia. She competed in the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the show jumping event and was also the flag bearer for the Jordanian delegation at the opening ceremony.
