Shanghai lays on extra buses for soccer fans
Adjust font size:

The men's soccer quarterfinal between Argentina and the Netherlands kicks off at 9 PM tomorrow evening. Since the game will not end until about 11 PM, the Shanghai authorities have decided to keep buses running longer than usual to ensure spectators will be able to get home safely and conveniently.

Additional traffic control measures have been in place round Shanghai's Olympic Stadium on match days during the tournament. Traffic around the stadium is restricted during pre-match and post match periods.

Shanghai's Dazhong Bus Company which operates most of the bus routes to and from the stadium has drawn up special plans based on the time and area of traffic control.

Three additional buses will be added to the main routes after the last bus in order to transport spectators promptly. Every bus has been equipped with monitoring aids to keep a close watch on passenger volumes.

The operating times of subway Lines 1 and 4 will also be extended.
