Adjust font size:

Chinese living in Oman are busy preparing for a welcome to the Beijing Olympic sacred flame, which is set to arrive in the Omani capital of Muscat on April 14.

Feng Jianhua, one of the overseas Chinese torchbearers in Muscat, said the Chinese people here were happy to hear the news that Muscat was chosen as one of the stops of the torch relay.

Feng said, his company and the overseas Chinese here are busying preparing for participating in the torch relay.

"We are organizing a cheering squad to support the torch relay, " said Feng. "It's a cherished opportunity for us to support Beijing Olympics."

On the day of the ceremony, colleagues of his company will be off duty earlier than usual so as to have enough time to watch and support the torch relay, he said.

Yang Xianhong, another torchbearer representing overseas Chinese in Muscat, said all his friends will carry China's national flag to attend the ceremony.

"We're proud of the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games," said Yang.
