Nepal to ensure peaceful Olympic torch relay
Adjust font size:

The government of Nepal will ensure that the Olympic torch relay on the summit of Mount Qomolangma (Everest) will go undisturbed, the Nepalese government said in a statement issued by its embassy in Malaysia Friday.

Security measures have been taken to prevent "any activities against China in the territory of Nepal," the statement said.

The embassy also hoped that the media would "appreciate the long standing position of Nepal in her relations with China."
