The Olympic torch reaches Baise, the last station of Guangxi
Adjust font size:

The Olympic torch arrived in Pingguo County of Southwestern China's Baise city on Saturday, where the torch relay will start on Sunday morning.

Baise is the last leg of the torch tour in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The relay will begin at the Culture Garden on Sunday morning. After that, it will continue in Baise's downtown area and end at Baise Uprising Monument, organizers said.

Baise, in the western part of Guangxi, is a city of hero, where China's late leader Deng Xiaoping led the famous Baise Uprising in 1929. Baise has a population of 3.8 million, covering the minority groups of Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Yi, Gelao and Hui, which accounts for 87 percent of the total people.
