Banks gear up for Olympics

Banks in Beijing are making last minute preparations for the upcoming Olympics. The Bank of China has not only put five temporary outlets into operation on Tuesday, but another two-thousand banking outlets around the city have begun providing foreign exchange services.

Bank of China's five temporary outlets are set to provide services for people like athletes, media, Olympic officials and audience as well. Staff chosen to work at these outlets are all good at English.

Dong Jianyue, Director of BOC Beijing Branch, said, "In order to provide better financial services, we have chosen 300 staff from over 7,000 employees. They are all excellent and good at English."

Also, they have added English signs to their ATM services
and electronic information bulletins.

Meanwhile, many bank outlets in Beijing are also gearing up for the Olympics. They have begun providing foreign currency exchange services. Also, they have added English signs to their ATM services and electronic information bulletins.

Cai Hongbo, Deputy Director of Operation Management Dept, BOG, said, "Our bank has provided four major aspects of payment services, including bank card services, account services, cash services and foreign currency exchange services."

By the end of June, over 2,000 bank outlets across Beijing have gained qualification to provide foreign currency exchange services. An Olympic payment environment has been established around the city.
