Britain to take on surprise qualifiers China for gold
Adjust font size:

A British team brimming with gold medals and world records are pitted against surprise finalists China for the gold medal in the Men's Team Sprint (LC1-4 CP3/4).

Britain's team of double gold medalist Darren Kenny, Jody Cundy and Mark Bristow who each have a single gold all set world records in their respective individual events and must start as favorites having gone two seconds faster than their opponents in the qualifying round.

But China cannot be completely ruled out. Although they can only muster two medals between them, the trio of Kuidong Zhang (silver in the Men's LC1 1km Time Trial), Lu Zhang and Yuanchao Zheng (bronze in the Men's LC2 1km Time Trial) will have a large and vocal home crowd to spur them on.

The bronze will be contested by the Czech Republic and Australia with the Czechs favorite for the medal having traveled the distance two seconds faster in the heat.
