Archery Day 3 Review: Stubbs' record breaking performance stands out

The highlight September 11 was the performance by British archer John Stubbs, who broke the Paralympic Games record in the Men's Individual Compound - Open category at the Olympic Green Archery Field. Stubbs' latest exploit comes just days after he broke the world record in the same event.

Men's Individual Recurve - W1/W2 (1-8 elimination round)

In the biggest upset of the morning session, top seed Taras Chopyk of Ukraine lost out to Ozgur Ozen of Turkey, 107-101. The Turkish archer dominated proceedings from the start and eased through to the quarterfinals.

Second seed Kim Hong-kyu of the Republic of Korea (ROK) also dropped out after Poland's Piotr Sawicki beat him, 104-99, in a closely fought clash.

Sawicki controlled the match from the start, getting the better of his ROK opponent in three of the four ends.

Third seed Lee Hong-gu of the Republic of Korea disappointed James Paul Browne of Great Britain, 108-103, in the second match of the day. Browne outscored his opponent in the first two ends, but failed to impress in the final two ends.

China's Cheng Changjie dismissed Malaysia's Zulkifli Zin Mat, 108-103, to make it through to the next round. In another match, Stephane Gilbert of France beat fourth seed Oscar de Pellegrin of Italy, 108-103.
