Archery Day 4 Preview: Archery heavyweights to clash on Friday

The world record holder John Stubbs of Great Britain (GBR) will lock horns with Canadian Kevin Evans (CAN) in what is one of the most anticipated quarterfinal matches at the Olympic Green Archery Field on Friday.

Men's Individual Compound - W1 quarterfinal

The tumult between the defending Paralympic champion John Cavanagh (GBR) and the Republic of Korea's (ROK) An Seong-pyo is expected to be the highlight of this category.

An squeezed out Czech Republic's (CZE) Zdenek Sebek, 104-100, in the 1-8 elimination round.

Second seed Jeff Fabry of Team USA will parry with Italy's Luca Fabio Azzolini (ITA) in the other quarterfinal. Azzolini stopped France's Olivier Hatem, 107-101, in the 1-8 elimination round.

These other quarterfinal matches will showcase David Drahoninsky (CZE) and Robert Lehner of Switzerland (SUI) and Canada's Norbert Murphy will contend with Osmo Kinnunen of Finland (FIN).

Men's Individual Recurve - W1/W2 quarterfinal

China's Cheng Changjie (CHN) will face Stephane Gilbert from France (FRA) in the first quarterfinal. The Chinese archer beat Malaysian Zulkifli Zin Mat, 108-103, in the 1-8 elimination round and Gilbert beat Italian (ITA) Oscar de Pellegrin, 101-99.

The Republic of Korea's Lee Hong-gu goes up against Tseng Lung-hui of Taipei (TPE) in the other quarterfinal clash. Lee shaved James Paul Browne (GBR), 108-103 in the 1-8 elimination round and Tseng schooled Japan's Yoshida Nobuji, 106-98.

Still other quarterfinal matches will spotlight Turkey's Ozgur Ozen who will take on Jung Young-joo (KOR) and Italian Marco Vitale will play Piotr Sawicki of Poland (POL).

Men's Individual Recurve - Standing quarterfinal

The collision between the defending Paralympic champion Imrich Lyocsa of Slovakia (SVK) and China's Chen Yegang is expected to be the highlight of this category.

Lycosa trumped Hasegawa Takahiro (JPN), 100-94, in the 1-8 elimination round, while Chen hedged Ukraine's (UKR) Yuriy Kopiy, 100-94.
