China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) won top honors in the Men's and Women's Team competition at the Olympic Green Archery Field on Monday.

Men's Team Recurve - Open

Republic of Korea won the gold medal in the Men's Team Recurve - Open category, outplaying China, 209-206.

Both sides began strongly, hitting the bull's eye in the first end. But the Chinese archers failed to maintain the consistency displayed by the ROK.

China performed less impressively in the second end, scoring in the mid-twenties. China will take home the silver medal.

Italy won the bronze medal, edging out Japan 207-194 in a closely fought contest. The Italian archers got off to a good start and managed to maintain their consistency through the match.

Japan had a strong start as well, but scored poorly in the last two ends.

Women's Team Recurve - Open

China left the best for the last, winning the gold medal and breaking the world record in the Women's Team Recurve - Open category.

The Chinese archers outplayed the Republic of Korea side from the start, hitting the bull's eye on five occasions (getting ten points for each). The hosts won the match 205-177. The Republic of Korea took home the silver medal.

Czech Republic won the bronze medal, edging out Poland by a two point margin, 184-182. The Czech side was off to a weak start scoring just 15 points in the first end, but they managed to regroup and get the better of the Polish team.
