Maritime officials move a gangway as final preparations are made onshore yesterday in Haikou, capital of China's southernmost Hainan Province, before Hai Xun 21 (haixun means maritime patrol in Chinese) set sail for Sansha City. Sansha, a city established last July, administers several island groups, including Xisha and Nansha, and undersea atolls in the South China Sea. The 93.2-meter ship, which is capable of carrying a helicopter, has a range of 4,000 nautical miles.[Photo/Xinhua]
