The Almas Jade Mine is located on the Kunlun Mountains in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, at 5,000 meters above sea level and with a history of 100 years. Donkeys are the only means of transport in this remote area. Yet donkeys can only climb up to an altitude of 4,000 meters; for the remainder of the journey, people can only rely on their own strengths.
