Artist Li Jianshen sips a cup of tea at his studio in Sanbao Village, Jingdezhen. Li was born in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province. He enrolled in the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1978 when he was 25. In the early 1990s, he went on to study in the United States at Alfred University, where he earned a Master of Ceramic Arts. In 1995, Li returned to Jingdezhen to work there as an artist and potter.
